Health And Well-Being During And After Divorce:

What’s happened to yours during and after your divorce?

Divorce can be one of the most overwhelming experiences for women, affecting their emotional, social, financial, and physical well-being. Amidst the turmoil, self-care is often viewed as a luxury, rather than a necessity. However, it is crucial for you to prioritize your health and well-being during and after divorce. We need to heal after divorce.

“Amidst the turmoil, self-care is often viewed as a luxury, rather than a necessity.”

10 Steps For Self-Care:

1. Seek Support from Healthcare Professionals:

Consult healthcare professionals such as doctors and nutritionists to monitor your health and provide guidance and treatment. Schedule a physical and a mammogram if you’ve neglected them.

2. Maintain A Balanced Diet:

Eat a balanced diet that includes plenty of fruits, vegetables, and protein. Take vitamin and mineral supplements if needed, it is crucial. Watch out for comfort and junk food. Avoid excessive eating or under-eating.

Natural Remedies:

  3.  Establish Regular Sleep Hours:

Set up regular sleep hours and ensure adequate sleep. Utilize natural remedies such as meditation, nature sounds, or exercise to help with relaxation, avoid powerful sleep aids unless recommended by a physician.

  4.  Engage in Relaxation Activities:

Take time to relax and enjoy activities that make you feel good. Consider deep breathing exercises, getting a massage, facial, manicure-pedicure, or new haircut or hairstyle. These steps help us heal after divorce.

 5. Stay in the Present:

Try not to dwell on the past or worry about the future. Planning for the future is important, but it is equally important to focus on the present moment.

6. Take Classes or Explore New Careers:

Consider taking a class at a local college or community center. Talk to a career counselor for guidance and support.

7. Build a Support Network:

Establish a support network of friends, family, and community groups. Consider joining online groups.

8. Stay or Get Active and Engaged:

Avoid isolating yourself and stay active and engaged. Get involved in activities or hobbies that interest you. Try one and put your toe in the water.

9. Work with a professional divorce coach:

A divorce coach can teach you skills and provide you with education to help you relax during your divorce process. They can help you process and deal with your emotions and support being your advocate walking you through the process.

10. Hydrate:

Believe it or not, clean water is a great source of energy as well as a gift to your body and health. Sodas and coffee don’t count. Drinks with artificial sweetener can actually have you gain weight.

Seek Support From Divorce Professionals:

It’s time to shift your focus from caring for others to caring for yourself during this difficult divorce period.

By seeking support from divorce professionals, maintaining a balanced diet, establishing regular sleep hours, engaging in relaxation activities, staying in the present, taking classes or exploring new careers, building a support network, and staying active and engaged, you can minimize the negative impact of divorce on your health and well-being. Remember, taking care of yourself is crucial during this challenging time.

Will you step out and take charge? You’re the only one who can heal after divorce.
