Welcome Cat Coluccio to the Kuel Life Thought Leaders.

KUELLIFE: What type of business do you own/run?

Cat: I am passionate about helping midlife women create their purposeful life and legacy. I truly believe that when a woman is living her life “on-purpose,” not only will she feel fulfilled, but she creates a ripple that positively affects her family and community.

“I am passionate about helping midlife women create their purposeful life and legacy.”

KUELLIFE: What prompted you or drove you to become an entrepreneur? When?

Cat: I have a thirst for learning, and that has led to my being a bit of a serial entrepreneur over the years, especially once I hit midlife when I returned to study after spending the previous six years homeschooling my teens.

This act was the launch to my truly becoming an entrepreneur, with many evolutions and experiences along the way. I experienced success, as well as plenty of failures too, but I quickly learned to dust myself off, take the learnings, ditch the negative self-talk, and seek out and invest with coaches who would challenge and stretch me. I’m still growing and evolving every day in my entrepreneurial journey.

The Negative Self-Talk Battle:

KUELLIFE: What’s your biggest struggle?

Cat: My biggest struggle through life has always been what’s in my head. I have battled negative self-talk as long as I can remember and each time I achieved something that might garner attention – recording my album, publishing my books, being featured in national media – I had to stop myself from spiralling down with a huge dose of “imposter syndrome.”

I’d be lying if I said that I had everything together and don’t have this struggle any longer, however I am now so much more aware, and have learned to interrupt negative thought patterns.

Create The Legacy:

KUELLIFE: What is your biggest fear as an entrepreneur? How do you work through it?

That I will run out of time before I can make a difference in the lives of other women and fully create the legacy I want to leave. Our time on earth is brief, and whilst I believe that only God knows the number of our days, I still find myself operating out of urgency at times. I do think this urgency has been fueled by the grief I’ve experienced from losing two precious girlfriends as well as a few other friends over the past few years.

I work through this by simply showing up each day and doing the work, while choosing not to focus too much on the enormity of the goal I want to achieve.

KUELLIFE: How do you measure your success?

Cat: I consider every positive testimonial or message I receive from clients, readers or listeners to be a mark of “success.”

To be even more succinct, success for me is:

  1. Other women’s lives impacted for good via my work,
  2. My own creative and business goals reached, and
  3. My own family and community impacted positively as a result of what I do.

“Once you’ve answered these big questions, start narrowing things down from there..”

Start Asking Yourself:

KUELLIFE: Finally, what advice would you give other women about taking an entrepreneurial path?

Cat: Start asking yourself questions:

  • What do you love?
  • What lights your fire?
  • And what is the legacy you want to leave?

Once you’ve answered these big questions, start narrowing things down from there, considering who you want to serve and how. (Want a free resource to help you get started? Get Cat Coluccio’s free workbook “Dare to Dream” here: )

Ready To Go For It!

My biggest two pieces of advice once you’ve spent some time dreaming and asking yourself questions?

  1. Invest in a business coach. Doing this at different times over the years has been invaluable for me.
  2. Instead of throwing caution to the wind and leaving your day job – start a side-hustle! Launching a business is challenging on every single level, however when you start out as a side-hustle first, you’ll still have income from your regular job – so important in today’s economy. Once you are ready to make the leap to being a full time entrepreneur, hopefully, you’ll already be earning enough to replace your salary, and are ready to go for it!
