Small Space Fitness: Cat Corchado
Helping people avoid injuries while staying healthy has been a lifelong objective of mine.
For this reason, coupled with my 40 years of fitness experience, I started calling myself a Movement Specialist – watching a client(s) form while training is what I do everyday helping them to stay safe and avoid exercise injuries.
“Protecting your body allows you to sustain a consistent workout routine, leading to better fitness results over time.”
Engage In Safe And Effective Workouts:
Protecting your body during workouts is essential for maintaining long-term fitness and overall health. Engaging in safe and effective workouts helps prevent injuries that can derail your fitness progress and lead to long-lasting issues.
By using proper form, gradually increasing intensity, and listening to your body’s signals, you can avoid overuse injuries and strains.
Protecting your body allows you to sustain a consistent workout routine, leading to better fitness results over time. Prioritizing safety also promotes mental well-being, as you can exercise with confidence and enjoy the benefits of a healthy lifestyle without unnecessary risks.
Exercise is a key component of a healthy lifestyle, but certain habits can have a negative impact on your body’s fitness and overall well-being.
Eight Exercise Habits To Avoid To Protect Your Body:
1. Overtraining:
Exercising too much or too intensely without allowing for adequate rest can lead to burnout, fatigue, and an increased risk of injury. Listen to your body and give yourself time to recover between workouts.
2. Poor Form:
Using incorrect form during exercises can strain your muscles and joints, leading to injuries. Always prioritize proper form over lifting heavier weights or completing more repetitions.
“Warm up your muscles with dynamic stretches or light cardio before starting your workout.”
3. Not Warming Up:
Skipping a proper warm-up can increase your risk of injury. Warm up your muscles with dynamic stretches or light cardio before starting your workout. This will help avoid exercise injuries.
4. Ignoring Pain:
Pushing through pain during exercise can lead to serious injuries. If you experience pain, stop exercising and consult a healthcare professional.
5. Neglecting Recovery:
Recovery is an essential part of any fitness routine. Without adequate rest, your muscles won’t have time to repair and grow stronger. Aim for at least one rest day per week and incorporate active recovery activities like yoga or walking.
6. Doing Too Much, Too Soon:
Trying to progress too quickly in your fitness routine can lead to overuse injuries. Gradually increase the intensity, duration, and frequency of your workouts to avoid burnout and injury.
7. Not Hydrating Properly:
Dehydration can impair your exercise performance and recovery. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your workouts to stay hydrated and helps avoid exercise injuries.
“Remember, fitness is a journey..”
8. Comparing Yourself to Others:
Everyone’s fitness journey is unique, and comparing yourself to others can lead to unrealistic expectations and feelings of inadequacy. Focus on your own progress and celebrate your achievements, no matter how small.
By avoiding these typical exercise habits and listening to your body, you can protect your body’s fitness and enjoy a safe and effective workout routine. Remember, fitness is a journey, so take your time and prioritize your health and well-being.
