It’s Way More Than Skin Deep: My Clientele’s Skincare Review

Jacks Smack 073021

Typically, my weekly Jack’s Smack essays are inspired by “life” – in particular mine. If you are a consistent reader of the Smack you’ll know that I cover seemingly mundane, everyday occurrences.

I offer my perspective, in the hopes that it resonates with someone. Someone might not feel alone. I call it a success if I can make a positive difference in at least one person’s life.

This week I am off-roading a bit and want to share my experience with a skincare brand. Yup, this post is about my personal voyage with Clientele – my Clientele skincare review.

I have not previously personally promoted any one brand. I don’t view myself as a “brand ambassador”, I fancy myself a “woman ambassador”. But, this week I want to share a brand that has made and continues to make a visible difference for me.

Before we go any further, this is not a paid sponsorship. I want to make sure to clear that up before I begin to sing this brand’s praises.

The Initial Consultation:

Our discovery session included real time photo taking/sharing of pores and problem areas.”

About six months ago I was introduced to this line by our ProAging Fitness Expert, Gail Gensler. Sheryl Wilson, Clientele’s National Director of Education and Aesthetician, began my journey with an introductory call. Sheryl and I spent over an hour on the phone. After the initial check on simpatico energy and life views, she began asking me questions about the current condition of my skin. More importantly, Sheryl probed about what was most concerning me and what I hoped for in a skincare line.

It was one of the most comprehensive inquiries I have experienced. Our discovery session included real time photo taking/sharing of pores and problem areas. I am not one of those individuals who has a long history of skin care maintenance. Through most of my life, my face got washed with whatever was handy. The concepts of serums, eye creams, or exfoliation were for other women. Until Clientele.

Based On Science:

The lotus seed, which Clientele is based on, is exclusively patented to the company since 1982.”

Sheryl explained the science behind the creation of the Clientele SkinCare line and the importance of taking care of both the out and inside of our largest organ. This is the first time, for me, that a brand has taken the time to educate me.

The lotus seed, which Clientele is based on, is exclusively patented to the company since 1982. In layperson’s terms, there is a glycation process that goes on with skin cell regeneration. The skin cells at birth have relatively healthy protein, but then we get hit with life stressors. Emotional stress, too much travel, physical exertion, mental stress, diet, poor sleep, lack of exercise, alcohol consumption, medications, lack of proper supplementation, or smoking can wreak havoc from the outside world. In addition, sunlight, pollution from sunlight, blue light UV damage from cell phones, computers, and televisions can all contribute as well. As if the outside world isn’t challenging enough, we begin to lose hormones (estrogen, testosterone, progesterone and Human Growth Hormone). The company’s founder, Patricia Riley, is a Biochemist with a background in nutrition.

Through her extensive, targeted line of questions, Sheryl expertly chose a very specific regimen for my skin. Not going to lie, it was a big step for me but one I was ready to make. A few days after our initial call, the box arrived. And my Clientele skin care odyssey commenced.

My Personal Regimen:

The following outlines my own skincare routine. If it seems overwhelming or overly complex, trust me when I say that after a few days it happens seamlessly and quickly. If my ADHD brain lets me be consistent, anyone can add this to their lifestyle.

Morning Routine:

Step One: Vital Factors & Clientele Daily Nutrient Supplements

Step Two: Estro Lift Face Wash

Estro Lift Face Wash

This is a gentle face wash, exfoliation process that prepares my face to receive and absorb the nutrients that follow.

Step Three: Elastology Lotus Firming Serum

Step Four: Estro-Lift Eye Therapy & Elastology Lotus Lift® Eye Serum

Step Five: Neck Therapy

Step Six: Elastology Soothie or Estro-Lift Day Therapy Sunscreen SPF 30

Depending on whether or not I expect any UV exposure, I chose between my two moisturizer options.

Evening Routine:

For the most part, it’s the same with a few additions and substitutions.

Step One: Clientele Daily Nutrient Supplements

Step Two: Clientele Lotus Time Shield Natural Oils & Estro Lift Face Wash

The Lotus Time Shield Natural Oils is a perfect way for me to remove my makeup and gives me an extra “umph” in hydration. My skin is prone to dryness…which is something Sheryl asked. See what I mean about the personalized experience?

Bonus Finds:

The Clientele Facial Masque results have to be SEEN to be BELIEVED. Check out my first time with this amazing masque.

Clientele Peptide Wrinkle Concealer

Clientele Peptide Wrinkle Concealer

This was an “add-on” in the process and I must say it is one of my most favorite tools in my make-up chest. Even on days where the makeup is minimal, this is on deck. I tend to have some darkness under my eyes. Typically, if I use concealer it makes me look like an owl with “extra” wrinkles. The Peptide Wrinkle Concealer gives me a fresh, rested appearance. (Tip: there are two shades in the palette I find that for my complexion a mix/blend of both works best)

Again, I repeat – this is not a paid sponsored tribute. My Clientele skincare review is a “Wow, so impressed with this skincare line and maybe, just maybe, I can save someone from countless research hours and lost revenue from failed attempts with other products.”
