Help me welcome LauraJo Richins:
KUELLIFE: What type of business do you own/run?
LauraJo: I run a unique women-focused business that specializes in a transformative, closed-eyed modality. This powerful approach, which is fast, painless, and offers long-lasting results, is tailored exclusively for women.
It is designed to guide them through overcoming self-doubt, unworthiness beliefs, and the weight of old emotional patterns and stress responses. In each session, I facilitate the process, allowing women to become their own teachers in their journey to self-discovery and empowerment.
“What prompted me to become an entrepreneur was an inner knowing that it was time to make a change.”
LauraJo’s Inner Knowing:
KUELLIFE: What prompted you or drove you to become an entrepreneur? When?
LauraJo: What prompted me to become an entrepreneur was an inner knowing that it was time to make a change. An unwavering inner yearning that I couldn’t ignore. Two years ago, I took a leap of faith by stepping away from a high-paying corporate job into uncharted territory. I trusted that this move would lead me to my ‘what’s next,’ and it did. This journey into entrepreneurship has been driven by a deep sense of purpose. And the desire to make a meaningful impact in the lives of women in mid-life.
Over the last few years, I’ve observed a shift in social norms – which has allowed more women to embrace their adventures of self-discovery and empowerment. As these societal changes open doors to new possibilities, my work will continue to adapt to align with the evolving needs and desires of women in mid-life.
The changing landscape encourages me to continue empowering women to rediscover their inner strength. And live authentically in a world that’s becoming more receptive to their unique journeys.
Self-Doubts And Nagging Thoughts:
KUELLIFE: What’s your biggest struggle?
LauraJo: My biggest struggle has been getting out of my own way. In the beginning, I grappled with self-doubts and the nagging thoughts of ‘who am I to think…’. or ‘I don’t know enough.’
I believed that I was my own worst enemy, which was a painful realization. Sadly, I had said that and laughed about in the past. Fortunately, I’ve evolved beyond the 24/7 negative self-talk. I now consider myself my own best friend, honoring my soul’s needs.
Today, my challenge is summoning the courage to step into unknown spaces because it’s still relatively new to me. I embrace the fact that I’m a beginner, and that’s perfectly fine. I’m thankful for the inspiring women who are already making waves in similar fields, leading the way and shining their light.
I’m especially grateful for those who openly share their vulnerabilities and mistakes. They remind us that we don’t have to have everything figured out before taking action. Success can coexist with the messiness of growth.
Embrace This New Territory:
KUELLIFE: What is your biggest fear as an entrepreneur? How do you work through it?
LauraJo: My biggest fear as an entrepreneur revolves around the unfamiliarity of stepping into a new space, particularly working with women, which is a significant departure from my background in corporate finance and administration. While my modality has been instrumental in resolving many of my fears, I’m the one who must still take the action and embrace this new territory.
“This approach helps me work through my fears and focus on my strengths.”
Additionally, I’ve found myself uncomfortable with social media, particularly platforms like Instagram, and the array of tools it entails. To address this, I’m currently in the process of interviewing virtual assistants (VAs) to find someone who can assist me. I recognize that in Human Design, as a 5/1 Mental Projector, my energy resources are limited, and it’s advised to delegate as much as possible. This approach helps me work through my fears and focus on my strengths.
LauraJo’s Success:
KUELLIFE: How do you measure your success?
LauraJo: I measure my success by the love and satisfaction I find in my work. When I left the corporate world, my goal was to find work that nourished my heart and soul, allowing me to build my business around my life rather than the other way around. While I don’t have the complete picture of what that entails yet, the love and fulfillment I derive from my work serve as significant indicators of my success.
My ultimate goal is to foster a micro-movement that empowers women to discover their personal alignment, connecting with their head, heart, and gut. It’s about encouraging them to stop seeking answers outside themselves and to trust the inner wisdom they possess. I want to awaken women to their inner power because the world needs us to show up as our true selves, shedding the weight of people-pleasing and external expectations.
A True Game-Changer:
We must acknowledge our own self-compassion and recognize that we’ve always done the best we could with what we knew at the time. We should then embrace curiosity, leave behind old paradigms, and step into the spaces that await us. The money I earn is a reflection of the value I offer. It’s not the sole measure of my success, but it demonstrates the impact I make in the lives of women who benefit from my work.
I’ve discovered that many women harbor a deep yearning to be more and do more, but they’re often held back by fear and the comfort of their existing routines. I envision a community of women cheering each other on, brainstorming ideas, sharing new perspectives and revelations, and ultimately finding harmony, inner peace, and love.
“This transformation begins when we rebuild the relationship we have with ourselves.”
This transformation begins when we rebuild the relationship we have with ourselves. Once we rediscover our self-love, we can begin to trust ourselves, and that trust is a true game-changer.
A Broader Perspective:
KUELLIFE: Finally, what advice would you give other women about taking an entrepreneurial path?
LauraJo: The entrepreneurial path may not be for everyone, but if you are feeling called to step into this space, my advice is to surround yourself with women who share a similar journey. Network, make connections, seek out a coach, and consider joining a mastermind group. Find an environment where your self-perception and ideas can be challenged and be willing to put in the work to shift your old beliefs and ideas into more expansive views. This personal growth has been transformative for me.
I’ve experienced significant shifts around concepts like what is considered right and wrong, good and bad, and it has provided me with a broader perspective on the world and my role within it, as well as where and how I can have an impact. Identify your areas of genius and focus your time there, while seeking the support you need in other areas. Each of us brings unique strengths to the table, so let’s collaborate, uplift, and work together toward a vision of a bright, joy-filled future.
Let the adventure begin!
