I met Kimberly Love when I was a guest on her podcast, Crushing 40, on Impact Radio. Yes, I KNOW I’ve past my 40s… but, that didn’t dissuade Kimberly from having me as a guest.
I, in turn, requested she participate in our Share Your Story series.
Kimberly is a radio host and author whose mission is to empower women. She wrote her first book to take us through her journey of overcoming abuse. She has transformed her life and wants to help other women do the same. Her radio show with 30,000 plus daily listeners showcases celebrities, coaches, and entrepreneurs who are an inspiration to women
Do we see a theme here at Kuel Life? Age is just a number, and the women in this community come together to share, support, and learn from one another. This week we get to learn from Kimberly.
KUELLIFE: What are you pursuing now, at this stage of your life, that surprises you or might appear to others as if it comes out of left field?
KIMBERLY: Pursuing a platform to speak to women. Getting a radio show came out of left field because I’m an introvert ad never imagined I would be interviewing people. The goal next is to do TV.
KUELLIFE: What’s a typical day like for you?
KIMBERLY: Recording a radio show and working on my next book.
“I struggle with procrastination and keeping focused on the many goals that I have.”
KUELLIFE: With what do you struggle?
KIMBERLY: I struggle with procrastination and keeping focused on the many goals that I have.
KUELLIFE: How do you motivate yourself and stay motivated?
KIMBERLY: I motivate myself by writing out my goals weekly. I have a lot on my plate and if I don’t do that I often get behind. I have a journal where I write my aspirations and that reminds me of why I’m doing everything that I do.
KUELLIFE: What advice would you give fellow women about aging?
KIMBERLY: Do whatever makes you feel good about yourself. I do it all, spa days, exercise, creams and botox. These are things I do to combat aging and I encourage women to do whatever makes them feel comfortable aging.
“When I wrote my memoir, ‘You Taste Like Whiskey and Sunshine’ that was the most vulnerable I’ve been”
KUELLIFE: What does vulnerability mean to you? What has the ability to make you vulnerable?
KIMBERLY: Vulnerability means putting yourself out there. When I wrote my memoir, ‘You Taste Like Whiskey and Sunshine’ that was the most vulnerable I’ve been; but, it was important for me to tell my story to help others.
KUELLIFE: What are three events that helped to shape your life?
KIMBERLY:
- Having my daughter helped shape me into the woman I wanted to be.
- Writing my memoir helped to shape me in my career.
- Becoming a radio host allowed me to step into a role as an entrepreneur where I can help to empower women.
KUELLIFE: Who influenced you the most in life and why?
KIMBERLY: My mother did. She always believed in me and told me from a young age that I could do anything and I believed her. She has been my driving force to achieving everything I want.
KUELLIFE: What is the best advice you’ve been given from another woman?
KIMBERLY: The best advice is to take moments for myself. Taking care of myself is paramount to being able to care for my child and build my business.
KUELLIFE: What woman inspires you and why?
KIMBERLY: There are too many women to list. My mother, entrepreneurs I follow, the woman who is struggling but keeps getting up everyday and trying. There are many ways to inspire someone else. Women who are fighters and who stand up for what they believe in are the ones that inspire me.
KUELLIFE: Are you grown-up?
KIMBERLY: I will never grow up. I’m young at heart.
KUELLIFE: What do you do for self-care?
KIMBERLY: I meditate and journal every morning, working out is a big thing for me, and I have monthly spa days. It’s best to find your own way of taking care of yourself and it should be something that makes you feel refreshed.
KUELLIFE: And last but definitely NOT least: What are the top three things on your bucket list?
KIMBERLY: Traveling to Paris has always been a dream of mine. Having my own talk show is another biggie and marrying the man of my dreams.
