Here we are now in 2021, and it’s fitting that January is named after Janus, the ancient Roman god of beginnings, transitions, and endings.
Portrayed as two-faced, he looks both to the future and the past at the same time. When you use this perspective, it dramatically shifts what is possible as you live into a new year (and your life)! Let’s examine our intimate relationships in the new year
Using Janus As Your 2021 Guide:
“it is vitally important to let go of any judgment”
With a look to both the past and the future, you can look to where you’ve been and where you might venture with more clarity and understanding. This is especially true in your intimate relationship. To do this however, it is vitally important to let go of any judgment you have about what has been, for others, and yourself! Judgment limits the scope of your (in)sight. It increases the probability you’ll continue to use outdated reference points that will keep you stuck.
Ask yourself – do I have what I want, need, or desire in my intimate relationship? Though the focus here is on sexual intimate relationships, this question applies to any type of relationship.
Looking Back Onto Your Relationships, Do You Notice?
- Was your heart open or were you protecting yourself from hurt or pain?
- Did you feel beautiful, desired, and cherished?
- Were you vulnerable – emotionally, sexually, spiritually, and physically?
- What about feelings of judgment – yours or your lover’s?
More importantly, did you know you were worthy of love, intimacy, and full sexual expression? Now, as you turn your head to the future, what do want, need, or desire in your intimate relationship?
This is not about list-making or resolutions. In order to change, enhance, or transform your intimate relationship, you need to go to the heart of the matter. What keeps you stuck in old disappointing (but familiar) patterns?
Change Those Relationship Patterns:
“people have gained clarity and understanding using a Janus perspective”
To do this, you need to shift what Pat Carnes refers to in his book, Sexual Anorexia, as your paradigm. It’s your relationship paradigm that interferes with your ability to feel worthy of love and intimacy. As well as, being fully sexually expressed. All of which will keep deep intimacy out of your life!
Hypnotherapy helps you change and transform paradigms by going to the heart of the matter of what keeps you stuck in those disappointing patterns. Whether it’s an intimate relationship or a thought/reaction pattern, people over the years have gained clarity and understanding using a Janus perspective. They are able to open themselves and their lives to greater joy, love, and intimacy!
